" Boston, MA local Stephen "DJ LiquidIce" Di Schino started his DJ career at the age of fifteen. Learning the piano at an early age and taking up the drums in high school he had an ear for music. Spending most of his childhood listening to the radio and making mixtape’s from cassette recordings for friends at school he gradually moved into his first hobby.. computers. Being a computer guru for several years LiquidIce entered into the online realm of streaming radio and owning his own radio station. He wanted to take this type of “DJing” to the next level after watching a music video of Herbie Hancock - Rock-it" on TV.
""I saw Grandmaster DST scratching vinyl records on a turntable and the sound was intoxicating. I had to have one.""
In the midst of this online mixing and wanting to take music to the next level to create seamless mixes, he purchased his first turntable setup.
""It was a used busted Numark direct-drive turntable and a Vestax mixer, I traded in my drum set from high school, my Ma' almost killed me; but it's what I wanted to do""
Countless hours practicing scratching, beat matching, and juggling; he created all sorts of mixes to critique and analyze on long drives to school. After some time he started releasing mixtapes in college and doing private events at local bars and clubs.
His attendance to Umass Dartmouth opened him up to all different styles of music beyond hip hop, house, and top40. Fast forward years later with many private and public events under his belt. LiquidIce has broken into the Boston nightlife club scene in a big way. He has been resident DJ for many clubs and guest spotted at some of Boston, Worcester, and NYC's hottest clubs.
