About

Boston, MA local Stephen “DJ LiquidIce” Di Schino started his DJ career at the age of fifteen. Learning the piano at an early age and taking up the drums in high school he had an ear for music. Spending most of his childhood listening to the radio and making mixtape’s from cassette recordings for friends at school he gradually moved into his first hobby.. computers. Being a computer guru for several years LiquidIce entered into the online realm of streaming radio and owning his own radio station for several years; Xtremeradio.
He spent countless hours doing programming and organizing music so the stream was up 24/7 with multiple “DJ’s” and various types of shows but nothing more than music and talk shows existed. He wanted to take this type of “DJing” to the next level after watching a music video of “Herbie Hancock – Rock-it” on TV.
“I saw Grandmaster DST scratching vinyl records on a turntable and the sound was intoxicating. I had to have one.“
In the midst of this online mixing and wanting to take music to the next level to create seamless mixes, he purchased his first turntable setup.
“It was a used busted Numark direct-drive turntable and a Vestax mixer, I traded in my drum set from high school, my Ma’ almost killed me; but it’s what I wanted to do“
Countless hours practicing scratching, beat matching, and juggling up in his bedroom he created all sorts of mixes to listen to in the car and analyze on the way to school in the morning. After some time he started releasing mix tapes in college and doing private events at After 5 Bar and other local locations. His attendance to Umass Dartmouth opened him up to all different styles of music beyond hip hop, house, and top40.
Fast forward four years later with many private and public events under his belt. LiquidIce has broken into the Boston nightlife club scene in a big way. Starting out in Faneuil hall doing Thursday nights cramped in the corner at “The Bar Room” on the first floor; he swiftly moved into Saturday night resident their in Level 2 Lounge room.
LiquidIce has come a long way since then with many venues and events ranging from BLVD in NYC to CBS Scene at Gillete Stadium he is top performer in all genre’s of music. Spinning for the masses online and live weekly; he is a force to be reckoned with. You can catch LiquidIce spinning for the shoppers at Metropark clothing store in the Natick Collection most Saturday evenings and performing nights as special guest DJ at some of Boston’s hottest nightclubs.
